Tenfold + Rocket Jones = Kansas City Kitty Web Site

Hip Web Design and Ingenious Web Programming collaborate for expansion of an Old Town favorite...

Northern Colorado – The Tenfold Collective, a Loveland-based branding and graphic design firm, teamed up with Web Developers, Rocket Jones Interactive to create the new online store for popular local shop, Kansas City Kitty. KCK needed an online store for their trendy mens and womens clothing store as a part of their business expansion plan.

For years KCK had been told that their stuff was 'so cool it could sell in a bigger city,' but the owners love downtown Fort Collins. So they decided to stay put, enjoy their trendy digs in Old Town but sell to the bigger cities via the web. "We first heard about Rocket Jones when they came to the neighborhood a few years back. We loved their look. Our experience went way beyond our expectations! They are very professional but create such a relaxed atmosphere. We discovered Tenfold by searching through the Rocket Jones website portfolio. They stood out with their incredible design. We thought they would be a great fit. We instantly clicked. Their interests and creativity were exactly what we looking for in a design team." ~The Kansas City Kitties, Christie, Trista, and Chip.

Rocket Jones, just around the corner from KCK, often collaborates with The Tenfold Collective and the two companies have a real comfort level with each other. "We love working with Rocket Jones; we trust them and know what to expect with them. This was a particularly fun project to design. The shop is cool, the products are great, and we knew Rocket Jones would take it and make it DO cool things too," says Josh Emerich of The Tenfold Collective.

"Working with Tenfold Collective on the Kansas City Kitty web site was a fantastic collaboration. The team at Tenfold Collective really gets how to design for the web, which is so important when developing a sophisticated eCommerce web site", commented Marge Norskog of Rocket Jones (www.rocketjones.com).

And the Kansas City Kitty trio seem to be happy with the team too: "Our site looks amazing! It is more professional and user friendly than we envisioned. It's a perfect beginning to our new adventure." The new online store is experiencing increased traffic every day.

Creativity Takes Front Seat to Economy at Tenfold

Loveland, Colorado – The Tenfold Collective, a Loveland-based branding and graphic design firm, continues to grow during times when headlines are dreary and news reports are depressing.

Just in late 2008 alone, Tenfold launched the following client web sites: RGA Environmental out of Emeryville, CA (www.rgaenv.com), WindWard Reports from Boulder (www.windwardreports.com), and the Construction Engineering and Management department at CU Boulder (www.colorado.edu/ceae/cem/), and is getting ready to unveil the following new client brands: Tree of Life Landscapes, Sparrow, and the New Pocket Guide to Historic Downtown Loveland.

In January, Tenfold looks forward to launching three more new client sites: Kansas City Kitty, The Unseen Bean, and Externally Focussed Network. Amy Madden Copp, the firm's Marketing Director who joined the Tenfold Team in August says, "We are a small yet very capable firm made up of talented people. With a combo like ours, I think we not only offer some good news for the local economy right now, but we can offer the kind of creative marketing assistance that businesses need at this time."

Tenfold is owned by graphic designers, Josh Emrich and Christopher McLaughlin. Emrich says of the agency's success, "We are going to do exactly what we tell our clients to do. When times are tough, it's harder to tempt people to spend money, so you can't stop marketing. It feels counter intuitive, but now is the time to invest in getting more creative, honing your message, then 'turning it up to 11.' "

The young company made up of two experienced graphic designers, a web developer and a marketer are planning for a successful outcome during what is being labeled the worst of times. Their business model has always been to show companies how to take better advantage of their marketing budget by first ensuring that their brand is strong enough to weather any storm while also outlasting generations and trends. Christopher McLaughlin adds, "I think all four of us believe that now is not the time to retreat. The sit-tight-and-wait for a better economy mentality is an illusion. There is no economy at any time in history that offers security in any real sense. Risk is the ubiquitous reality in which we live and we can't afford to be afraid of it now simply because everyone is talking about it."

Words to live by: "Don't live in a bunker. Businesses need to see this downturn as an opportunity to gain market share by reevaluating who they are, what they represent, and fine-tune their message. I think we as Americans need to have faith in our ability to reinvent ourselves using our work ethic and ingenuity. This crisis is an opportunity to give some new people a shot--what has worked in the past isn’t working, leaving the door open to new ideas," -Josh Emrich.
Tenfold will continue to be optimistic, hard-working and creative with their clients' budgets. Striving to set themselves, as well as their clients, apart from the competition has a whole new meaning as the competition is now something entirely different all together.

An Autumn Evening at the Loveland Feed & Grain - a success and a hit!

Loveland, Colorado – The Tenfold Collective, in conjunction with Novo Restoration, Inc co-hosted a fundraising event to help restore the historic architectural icon in Loveland's 4th Street District this past Friday night. The event was the first annual for Novo and was called 'An Autumn Evening at the Loveland Feed & Grain.' The event was held in the front yard of the historic building that was once scheduled for demolition.

Nearly 400 people accepted the offer to enjoy an evening under white lights and heated tents for gourmet food, live music, a silent auction and art gallery. "The turnout was great. It was a fun party designed to call attention to the possibilities of the historic Feed & Grain," says Amy Madden Copp, the Marketing Director for The Tenfold Collective. Copp was the event planner for the evening and looks forward to helping Novo again in the future, as well as Tenfold clients who need to host high-profile events.

Erin McLaughlin, President and founder of Novo Restoration, the group of concerned citizens who want to see this piece of history rehabilitated and reused for the benefit of the Loveland community, says "The event exceeded my expectations. The exposure and the publicity we experienced combined with the opportunity to talk to nearly 400 people about our cause was wonderful. We had hoped to earn $10,000 and we did!"

Building owner, Barry Floyd said of the event, "I thought it was a great success. To see that type of diverse crowd out in Loveland over a cause like the Feed & Grain was pretty neat. I had no idea people would be interested in helping restore the building." To learn more about what might be in store for this building, visit www.lovelandfeedandgrain.org

The event showcased local artists with various types of art pieces for sale, local merchants who donated items for the silent auction, and headliner, HATCH SHOW PRINT -a historic printer from Nashville known for their woodblock printed posters for the biggest names in the music industry: Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson and ohers. HATCH is currently touring with The Smithsonian exhibit so seeing them in Loveland was a rare opportunity.

"The Feed & Grain building was the perfect backdrop for this particular type of artwork," says Christopher McLaughlin, Principal of The Tenfold Collective and Erin’s husband. "It was quite something just to see Hatch in this type of setting, but the rest of the evening offered so many other special highlights. It was a great event. We look forward to hosting the 2nd annual event. A lot of attendees asked us NOT to wait an entire year before doing it again."

"We think people really enjoyed themselves and had a memorable evening of good food, great entertainment, and fine art... all for only $10 per person which made it easy to come check it out. Many people helped make the event possible and we can’t say thank you enough to:

RC Special Events, Gulley Greehouse & Garden Center, Fort Namaqua Liquors, Taste, DJ Browne & Tim Wahler, Emily Maeda & Tom Hagerman, Hatch Show Print, Pricilla Fitzmaurice, Tiffany Zerges, Andy Smith, Scott Waterhouse, Barry Floyd, Ian Menzies, Roger Clark, Linda Larsen, Janee Cookson, Chris Phanara, Chris Thorp. Amy Kroll, Ryan Kroll, Mary Bahus-Meyer, Ashley Kasprzak, David Kasprzak, Joey Parsons, Fran Parsons, Bartles Land & Livestock, Erin McLaughlin, Christopher McLaughlin, Matt Wade, Josh Emrich, Amy Madden-Copp, Ed Fisher, Sharon Danhauer, Linda Hollingsed, King Soopers, Gallegos Sanitation, Loveland Starbucks, 4th Street District, Pene Sperry, Linda Davis, Susan Levine, Jeff Hosea, and The Reporter-Herald."

An Autumn Evening at the Loveland Feed & Grain

Loveland, Colorado - The Tenfold Collective, in conjunction with Novo Restoration, Inc is co-hosting a fundraising event to help restore the historic architectural icon in Loveland's 4th Street District. The event is called 'An Autumn Evening at the Loveland Feed & Grain' and is scheduled for Friday, November 7th from 6-10pm. The event will take place in the front yard of the historic building that was once scheduled for demolition.

The evening will be set under white lights and heated tents and will feature gourmet food by local Loveland caterer TASTE, live Music by FINE WHINE and members of the nationally known band, DVOTCHKA. A Silent Auction will showcase Northern Colorado businesses, and a Fine Art Gallery/Auction will feature HATCH SHOW PRINT.

Erin McLaughlin, President and founder of Novo Restoration, the group of concerned citizens who want to see this piece of history rehabilitated and reused for the benefit of the Loveland community, says "Some of the options on the table include an arts center, a fresh market, or community center. There could be space included for restaurant and specialty retail. This fundraising event will be the first time we're appealing to the masses in this way. We hope by providing a memorable evening, fine art and great entertainment, we can make a lasting impression that can demonstrate why this building is so important to the Loveland community."

Art Gallery headliner, HATCH SHOW PRINT is a historic printer located in Nashville known for their woodblock printed posters for the biggest names in the music industry: Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson and many more. HATCH is currently touring with The Smithsonian exhibit so seeing them in Loveland is a special opportunity. "Hatch and the Feed & Grain have a lot in common. Both were saved by concerned citizens who wanted to preserve our past for future generations. Both represent a valuable piece of Americana, making the Feed & Grain the perfect backdrop to celebrate the graphic art tradition of Hatch Show Print," says Tenfold principal and graphic designer, Josh Emrich who's business partner, Christopher McLaughlin is an active member of Novo Restoration.

Christopher McLaughlin is a downtown Loveland success story in his own right; after settling his family in downtown Loveland, he brought his business to 4th Street over 2 years ago. He donates his graphic design talents to the 4th Street District and the DLA, as well as his time and effort to Novo Restoration. " Erin and I lived in Savannah, Georgia for several years where we saw what an incredible contribution a city's history can make to it's current cultural and financial well-being. Loveland is sitting on incredible potential and our hope is that we can help more businesses and residents see what a great city this is," he says of his dedication tohistoric downtown Loveland. McLaughlin is also dedicated to showcasing local artists, so in addition to the HATCH gallery on November 7th (which will include pieces available for purchase), the silent auction will feature the work of local painters and photographers. The artists have agreed to donate partial proceeds from the sales of their pieces to the restoration fund.Over 50 local businesses have donated items ranging from musical theater tickets to spa packages and vacations for two. 100% of funds raised by these silent auction items, donation jars, bar tips, and sales from Feed & Grain memorabilia will go to the restoration efforts to create a community space at the old Feed & Grain.

"Tickets for the evening are limited and people can buy them online at tenfoldgallery.com or by calling us at 970-744-4221. We think people will really enjoy a memorable evening of good food, great entertainment, and fine art... all for a good cause - and for only $10 per person," adds Tenfold's Marketing Director Amy Madden-Copp who assisted Novo Restoration with the event planning.

ABOUT THE FEED & GRAIN BUILDING
The 115-year-old building is one of the most historic buildings in Loveland. It is one of the few remaining reminders of Loveland's agricultural roots and is listed on the local register of historic places. National recognition is underway. In February 2006 this landmark building was under consideration for demolition. Thanks to the outpouring of support from the community the demolition application was denied by both the Loveland Historic Preservation Commission and the Loveland City Council. Although the immediate threat of demolition has been evaded, there is still much to be done in order to see it restored and used again.

ABOUT NOVO RESTORATION
Novo Restoration, Inc. is a local 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is the preservation and enhancement of Loveland's built historical environment and community heritage. Created in response to the imminent destruction of a major local landmark--the Loveland Feed and Grain--Novo Restoration is now taking a leading role in the rehabilitation of the building. It is our goal to see the structure become a vital community resource for generations to come.
